Akeim Clarke of Loomis Chaffee verbally commits to UNC

The prep school standout goes in-depth on his decision

Less than two months into his junior year, Akeim Clarke has a college soccer home.

The Loomis Chaffee junior forward has announced his verbal commitment to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, winners of two national titles (2001, 2011).

The 16-year-old from Windsor, Conn., in an interview with New England Soccer Journal, acknowledged it's early in the college recruiting process, but his mind was made up relatively quickly.
