Hardly anyone would describe Kristie Mewis (Hanson, Mass.) as average.
After all, the former Boston College and Scorpions SC standout has eight professional seasons and 15 U.S. women’s national team caps to her name.
Yet Mewis, who appeared in an October USWNT camp after a sterling National Women’s Soccer League season with the Houston Dash, once wondered if that label might apply to her.
