Longtime friends Duran, Mitchell form foundation for Boston College

Gianna Mitchell and Kayla Duran first started playing soccer together in 2011, when they joined FC Stars, one of Massachusetts’ top club programs.

Fast forward to today, and the duo are the anchors of a Boston College defense that’s among the best in the nation.

“We’ve been best friends for a long time,” Mitchell said. “Her and I being a strong foundation in the middle of the field has really helped us.”
