Ivy League teams won’t compete during Spring 2021 semester

While some Division I conferences may conduct soccer seasons during the Spring 2021 semester, the Ivy League announced Thursday that its fall teams won’t compete during that period.

That leaves the men’s and women’s teams at Brown, Dartmouth, Harvard and Yale – the region’s four Ivies – sidelined until at least the Fall 2021 semester, all as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to upheave college athletics.

The news coincided with the Ivy League Council of Presidents deciding that its eight schools won’t have 2020-21 winter sports. As for spring sports, which face the prospect of two straight seasons being cancelled, they’re postponed through at least the end of February 2021.
