The 2022 New England prep school season is less than six months away, and it’s never too early to look ahead.

That’s particularly true in the perennially talented and competitive Independent School League (ISL), where programs undoubtedly already have their sights set on getting to the top of the standings this coming fall.

In that spirit, we took this offseason opportunity to survey the 13 ISL girls coaches on a handful of questions: Who is the top returning field player in the ISL in 2022? Who is the top returning goalkeeper in the ISL in 2022? Who is a coach in the league you admire? Who is the hardest team to prepare for? Where is your favorite place to play in the league as a visiting team?

It proved to be a fun exercise that solicited a variety of responses, that will remain anonymous. Coaches were asked to not vote for their own players or team. Here are the results.
