Youth soccer hasn’t officially returned to Maine amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but it’s inching in that direction, according to executive director Shari Levesque.
If all goes to plan, teams would return to small-group training sessions on May 15 and team-wide activities in early June.
That’s all as Gov. Janet Mills’ reopening plan would ease caps on gatherings from 10 to 50 people, and the Maine State Premier League would operate an adjusted season in June and July. To date, Soccer Maine has cancelled its youth Pine Tree League and Olympic Development Program plans were nixed.
