Juan Carlos Obregón Jr. now has three goals on the year. (USL Championship)
Playing their first game in three weeks, Hartford Athletic ran riot on Saturday evening with a 7-0 win over New York Red Bulls II, the largest margin of victory in the USL Championship club’s history.
Over 5,000 fans turned out to Dillon Stadium for the venue's first full-capacity match since the 2019 season – and they were treated to an offensive explosion that was highlighted by one goal and three assists from captain Danny Barrera.
Barrera started as a right winger in Hartford’s 4-3-3 formation, though the left-footed creator shifted centrally to show his quality. Head coach Harry Watling was nearly speechless when reflecting on the 31-year-old’s performance.
