Hanging Out With … URI goalkeeper Roger Penske

With the graduation of three-time captain Nils Leifhelm, the University of Rhode Island found itself in need of a starter between the posts.

While questions loomed from afar, the Rams quickly found a solution in freshman Roger Penske, a product of Pateadores and Los Angeles Galaxy, two southern-California Development Academy clubs.

The 18-year-old caught up with New England Soccer Journal's Kyle McCarthy to chat his frenzied start to life in the Atlantic 10 – a cross-country one, nonetheless.

NESJ: If someone had told you before the season that it would take nearly 500 minutes for you to concede your first college goal, what would you have said?
