Lucas Almeida (West Hartford, Conn.) has seen numerous accolades come his way during his high school soccer career.
Recently, at the team banquet to wrap up the 2022 season for his Hall High School boys soccer team, Almeida was notified of his most prestigious honor yet.
Hall head coach Zeke Seguro saved this major news for last, as his final award announcement at the banquet.
Almeida, a senior forward who is headed to UConn next year, was named the High School Boys National Player of the Year by United Soccer Coaches.
