GPS New Hampshire defender Ryan Sledjeski bound for Providence

Under head coach Craig Stewart, the complexion of Providence College's roster often looks similar.

The vast majority of recruits played in the Development Academy or come from international backgrounds. Few, if any, come from the National Premier League.

That's set to change with Ryan Sledjeski (Bedford, N.H.) committed to the Friars for next fall, joining a Big East program that made the Elite Eight as recently as 2016.

"The (Development Academy) is great for the top-level guys and there are great teams," Sledjeski said. "If you have the chance to join one, it can be an easier route.
