Landmark news for New England club soccer emerged Friday, with Global Premier Soccer CEO Keith Caldwell confirming in an email that the club would be shutting down. He added that Chapter 7 bankruptcy awaits, and an appointed trustee would handle proceedings.
Caldwell, who took the job this past January amid a federal investigation into former president and CEO Joseph Bradley, said the decision was made by Legacy Global Sports.
LGS, a youth sports event and management company based in Boston, originally obtained 80 percent ownership of the company for nearly $15.2 million in October 2016.
