At Seacoast United, optimism shapes how academy director Iain Scott discusses the club’s future in the girls’ Development Academy.
Next year, their third in the league, will include a U-19 team and participating in the DA Cup. Their younger-aged teams – the 2005s through 2008s, in particular – are all trending in a positive direction, too.
It’s an outlook that’s shaped by Scott’s stance that results, by and large, are inconsequential in youth development. Seacoast wants to win, of course, but they’re also not hitting the panic button over mid-table or worse at the U-15, U-16 and U-17 levels.
