BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. -- It was a successful trip to the Greensboro area for Connecticut-based Oakwood Soccer Club’s U-16 and U-17 teams.
Both sides left the Girls Academy Spring Showcase, held at Bryan Park Soccer Complex, with quality results.
The U-16s went 2-0-1 in their three games and displayed outstanding defense in the process. They defeated Century United, 2-1, last Thursday, beat West Coast Soccer, 1-0, on Saturday, and tied Beading SC, 0-0, on Sunday.
The U-17s, meanwhile, went 2-1-0, and showed off a potent attack that tallied nine goals in the three matches combined. Oakwood lost, 1-0, on Friday to St. Louis Development Academy, then beat Baltimore Armour Academy, 4-1, on Saturday, and defeated BVB International Academy, 5-1, this morning.
