Sandwiched in between league wins over PDA White and World Class FC, the FC Stars Blue ECNL Regional League 2004 team raised a trophy last weekend in the inaugural NEP New England Regional Cup.

Paced by two goals from forward Waverly Sumner, plus strikes from Ava Murphy and Rebecca Doucette, they downed NEFC 2004 Girls DPL by a 4-2 scoreline on Saturday in Mendon, Mass.

With the victory, FC Stars Blue booked a ticket to US Club Soccer’s National Cup XX Finals in Commerce City, Colo., later this July. They allowed a goal early on, but showed the come-from-behind spirit that’s defined their spring campaign.
