ECNL Girls: Connecticut FC highlights, standouts from Arizona national event

It was a rewarding trip west for Connecticut Football Club squads earlier this month.

Connecticut FC sent its U-15, U-16 and U-17 ECNL Girls sides to ECNL Phoenix, a major national event, and got strong efforts across the board. Most notably was the U-15 squad, which went a perfect 3-0 over the course of the three-day event.

Another weekend highlight for CFC was Class of 2025 forward/midfielder Annie Gnidula and Class of 2025 goalkeeper Emelia Pacheco-Hager being selected to the West roster for the U-15 ECNL Phoenix National Selection Game. The ECNL National Selection Games are "all-star" matches that bring top players at each regular season ECNL national event together for representative competition on the first day of the event. Players were selected for the games by ECNL Player Identification staff through a combination of scouting and recommendations based on performances over the past several months. Gnidula netted a goal in the Selection Game.

Here’s a look at some highlights and standout players from the weekend in Arizona for CFC.
