This weekend, boys Elite Clubs National League programs from across the country will head to Sanford, Fla., to compete in the ECNL Florida showcase from Saturday-Monday.
It’s the fourth major national event on the 2021-22 ECNL Boys calendar. It not only serves as a winter measuring stick for clubs before the regular season gets cranked up significantly in March, but it’s also an enormous opportunity for players to be seen by hundreds of college coaches, from Division 1, 2 and 3. College recruitment and exposure are major elements to the showcase.
Because of the nature of the showcase, with so many games being played on different fields over the course of three days, colleges will often send two or three coaches to observe the matches. At the ECNL Girls Florida showcase two weeks ago, an estimated 900 college coaches were in attendance.
