Now that we’re about six weeks into the 2017-18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy season, it’s becoming increasingly clear who some of the top players in the region are.
From that, we present our Top 15 players, who are ranked in no particular order. Age group, club, and position don’t factor in either. All that was considered was on-field production, soccer IQ, and potential. These players are developing into future college soccer stars, with some even candidates to play professional one day.
Now, this list will undoubtedly look different as the spring season gets underway. Plus, rosters aren’t yet filled to the brim since some are playing prep or high school soccer this fall. But any list such as this doesn’t use a scientific method, opens itself to scrutiny, and naturally fosters debate. That’s just the nature of things.
