While the Development Academy can serve as a fast-track to professional soccer, it’s rather a springboard to a Division 1 opportunity for the vast majority of players. That’s the reality for New England’s five DA clubs, where a high level of youth soccer prepares one for the college ranks’ physical rigors and increased speed of play.
So, which local DA alums have best made that jump? To answer that, New England Soccer Journal has highlighted five players from each club – Beachside, Boston Bolts, New England Revolution, Oakwood and Seacoast – who are worth keeping an eye on.
Those included are either freshman just getting their college careers underway, or experienced veterans who have carved out nice roles at their respective programs.
