Dating back two years or so, David Walley (Needham, Mass.) remembers there being interest from Columbia.

Now as the defender/midfielder’s senior year at Milton Academy gets underway, he has verbally committed to the Ivy League program in New York City’s Upper West Side neighborhood. He’ll be part of their Class of 2020.

The Lions won the conference in 2017 and made an NCAA tournament run before falling to national powerhouse Wake Forest. That success, as well as relationships with head coach Kevin Anderson’s staff, played a major role in Walley’s decision.
