We live in an era of single-sport specialization, a fraught phrase that’s packed full of issues.
But Trinity junior midfielder Gabby Grattan (Milton, Mass.) has always viewed that conversation differently, dipping her toe in several ponds. She was a three-sport athlete at Thayer Academy, earning 13 varsity letters while at the Boston-area prep school.
Now, Grattan is a Second Team All-NESCAC selection for the resurgent Bantams. She’s also an All-American high jumper, and last May set a school-record in that event.
Life gets busy for Grattan, juggling her economics major while playing a sport during all three seasons at the Hartford-based liberal arts college. She wouldn’t have it any other way.
