Fifty-six teams have the chance to compete for a women’s Division 2 national championship.

Three of those teams reside in New England.

The field for the 2021 Division 2 women’s NCAA Tournament was unveiled earlier this week and Bridgeport, Saint Anselm and Southern New Hampshire were all awarded spots in the East Region. St. A's made history with its first-ever trip to the tourney.

First round matches will take place Thursday and Friday and second round matches will take place either Saturday or Sunday. All games will be played on the campus of a participating institution and will consist of two sites per region. The two finalists in each subregion will advance to third and quarterfinal round competition to be played Thursday, Dec. 2 or Friday, Dec. 3 and Saturday, Dec. 4 or Sunday, Dec. 5. The semifinals and championship games will take place Dec. 9 and 11 at Switchbacks FC Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colo.
