D2 Men’s: Northeast-10 again leads top local teams, players, storylines

The Northeast-10 is routinely considered one of the best conferences in Division 2, exhibited by three teams making last year’s NCAA Tournament, including locals Merrimack and Southern Connecticut.

With that standard of play, coaches in the conference don’t take a single game for granted. Just ask Josh Taylor, head coach at Southern New Hampshire, the 1989 and 2013 national champions.

“Each game is difficult, and it will take a full team effort to get results,” Taylor said. “I have a lot of respect for the coaches in our conference and the coaches we compete within our non-conference schedule. It has been a long offseason and each program recruits hard and improves each year. This is one of the most competitive regions for Division 2.”

The 2017 season proved how true that sentiment is, largely in part to the about-face performance of Bentley.
