Kate Bossert (Needham, Mass.) is easy to spot when the University of Vermont takes the field.
At 5-foot-11, the junior is one of the tallest members of the team, and the tallest forward by four inches. Her parents, Suzanne and Ellen, were basketball stars in college, suggesting height runs in the family.
According to Kate, she wasn’t always the tallest on the pitch.
"I used to be kind of short, actually," Bossert said. "I hit seventh grade and I just shot up five inches. I didn’t really know how to handle it. Once I grew into my body, I was, like, 'this is definitely a good thing.'"
