Ashley Phillips has been around high-level soccer for a long time.
She is currently in her eighth season as head coach of the Northeastern women’s soccer team. As a player, the former Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year starred as a goalkeeper at Clemson University and then professionally.
But last Sunday, her Huskies put together a performance unlike any that Phillips had ever been a part of during her illustrious career in the sport.
Northeastern set a new program-record for most goals in a game, as it defeated the Hampton Pirates, 10-0, on Senior Day. The Huskies racked up eight of those goals in the first half, as they shattered the previous program single-game goal record of six.
