The excitement in Kyle Zenoni’s voice was palpable.
One day after the 38-year-old was officially named the head men’s soccer coach at UMass Lowell on Thursday, Zenoni spoke to New England Soccer Journal over the phone about his new gig.
"This wasn’t one of those things where it’s 'oh, I need a job,' It’s just one of those things that felt right," said Zenoni.
It was certainly going to take a special opportunity that "felt like home" to lure Zenoni out of his native Wisconsin. He spent the last seven seasons as associate head coach at the Horizon League’s University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he also starred as a player after growing up in the Milwaukee area.
