Patrick Agyemang (East Hartford, Conn.) wants to be fresh for his senior season with the University of Rhode Island men’s soccer team, so in preparation for the tight and grinding schedule of matches and training this fall, he focused on not doing too much during the summer.
"I want to try to save myself as much as possible for the season this year," Agyemang said, earlier this summer.
In 2021, Agyemang played 40-plus matches between the spring and fall seasons for URI, in addition to the Western Mass Pioneers, who advanced to the USL League Two semifinals during the summer. By the time Agyemang hit the fall campaign with the Rams, he was "a little bit sore." However, despite being admittedly banged up, Agyemang still managed to post a team-high 10 goals last fall for URI, which finished 10-5-2 and advanced to the Atlantic 10 tournament semifinals.
