Like 18 other Division I women’s soccer programs around New England, Hartford eagerly anticipated returning to action this spring.
But after two separate spells of COVID-19 positive tests and the required quarantine periods, the America East program won’t play this spring.
Head coach John Natale said they’re also dealing with season-ending injuries and players opting out, making it unrealistic for the Hawks to compete. Games were originally postponed, then the situation became untenable and the unfortunate reality settled in.
