Finally, after years of attempting to make it happen, the Connecticut Spring College Cup is looking like a go for 2022.
Six men’s college soccer programs, from Division 1 or 2, will compete for state bragging rights in the inaugural competition that will be held in March and April.
The six teams are Division 1 Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart and Central Connecticut State University, and D2 squads Southern Connecticut State, New Haven and Post. There will be five weeks of competition, beginning in the third week of March, with the championship match scheduled to be played on the weekend of April 23.
Opening week matchups will feature Southern Connecticut State vs. Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart vs. Post, and Central Connecticut State vs. New Haven. Week 2 will feature Quinnipiac vs. New Haven, Southern Connecticut State vs. Sacred Heart, and Post vs. Central Connecticut State. The remainder of the schedule will soon be finalized.
