The Fall 2020 high school soccer season in Connecticut will be unlike any other, as the COVID-19 pandemic has altered the schedule entirely.
Games are set to begin Oct. 1 and must be wrapped up by Nov. 7, then postseason play will likely be regionalized instead of following the traditional Class LL through Class S format. Plus, coaches are wondering if games will indeed get underway and what will happen if there's a spike in cases.
Nonetheless, we're looking ahead to the CIAC season with our Preseason Best XI (plus honorable mention) and top teams around the state. Like every year, Connecticut is home to a deep, talented high school scene that prompts several interesting storylines.
Which teams and players could turn heads? We'll soon find out.
