Update: Coaches behind the 21st Century Model formally tabled their proposal April 2, saying as much in a statement: "We believe our attention now and in the foreseeable future must be on the health and safety of our student-athletes, staff and our community due to the COVID-19 pandemic."
Significant change to the year-round calendar for Division 1 men’s college soccer will have to wait at least another year, with numerous sources confirming to New England Soccer Journal that this April’s vote on the 21st Century Model has been suspended indefinitely.
The plan is still kicking around and has momentum from power-five conferences, plus others. But with the COVID-19 pandemic creating uncertainty on college campuses and other conferences not in support, the legislative process is on hold.
