Club notebook: New England’s teams and players standing out

With the calendar turned to April, the club soccer season has kicked into second gear.

For teams from New England, that means the gamut of league play, national recruiting events and college showcase tournaments are in full swing. There's also ambition towards playoffs, which are held in late June and early July.

When we refer to club soccer, it primarily deals with the Elite Clubs National League and National Premier League. Given its affiliation with U.S. Soccer, the Development Academy is treated as a separate entity.

Without further ado, here are some headlines and notables from the region's club soccer landscape.
