The Division I in-person recruiting dead period’s extension through Jan. 1, 2021 could most prominently impact those in the Class of 2022.
If the pause isn’t extended further, coaches will have gone at least 10 months without witnessing a live game for real-time, thorough evaluations. The normal swing of ID clinics, showcase events and recruiting camps have been remarkably muted since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
But you could still see some Class of 2022 standouts making their verbal commitments this fall. The current New England-based list is around 20 strong, though it’s bound to grow as talented players determine their college soccer futures.
