The Division I women’s soccer NCAA tournament will have just one team from New England, and it’s a familiar face.
Central Connecticut State learned Monday that it’ll face South Florida in the opening round, with kickoff set for April 27 (3 pm ET) in Greensboro, North Carolina as part of the competition's centralized bubble format.
Both programs are conference champions, with CCSU (7-0) coming off its third straight Northeast Conference title and South Florida (9-0-2) coming off its second straight American Athletic Conference title. In other words, they both earned automatic berths to the 48-team field.
