When the New England Revolution advanced to the Eastern Conference Final in 2020, their catalyst was undoubtedly Carles Gil.
The Spanish playmaker recovered ahead of schedule after undergoing surgery last August, reaching full fitness as they fell just short of making MLS Cup for the sixth time in club history.
It’s no surprise, therefore, that the Designated Player is drawing rave reviews as the Revolution reconvene this week for 2021 preseason camp. They’re practicing in Foxboro, Mass., laying the early pieces ahead of an April 17 start.
