Brooke Mulroney thriving in increased role for Thayer Academy

Brooke Mulroney (South Weymouth, Mass.) gives up about 6 inches to Tabor Academy’s Cat Barry (Hingham, Mass.), a senior and University of South Carolina commit whom Thayer head coach Nick Rugnetta calls “an absolute force on the field.”

Yet there was Mulroney, a sophomore at Thayer, getting physical with Barry and standing her ground in a 2-1 win over Tabor on Oct. 5.

That’s what Mulroney does: She punches above her weight and, more often than not, wins those individual matchups.
