The premier event of fall Development Academy season has arrived, as New England's five clubs have made their way down to Lakewood, Fla., for the Winter Cup and other matches.
Action is set to get underway on Wednesday, with the New England Revolution U-19s, Oakwood U-19s and Seacoast U-17s all slated for that competition. There are also showcase games for other U-17 and U-19 teams.
Local clubs are hoping to progress onto the Spring Cup in late April and early May, while another big focus of the event is college recruiting. Hundreds of college coaches descend on the event each year, with the chance to watch dozens of potential recruits in a singular location.
