In its second trip to the Dallas Cup, Black Rock FC nearly reached the pinnacle.

The prep-school centric club brought its U-19 and U-17 residential academy teams (Northwood School) down to the prestigious international tournament, falling just short of reaching the top.

Playing one tier below the Gordon Jago Super Group, their U-19 team lost in the semifinals to eventual runner-up Houston Dynamo. Meanwhile, their U-17 team finished just below FC Dallas in the group stage, narrowly missing out on the knockout round.

The U-19 run, Black Rock CEO Jon Moodey said, helped validate what they’re building in the prep space.
