Bella Roppolo commits to UMBC, overcomes two ACL tears

The college soccer recruiting process, Class of 2021 attacking midfielder Bella Roppolo (Brockton, Mass.) isn’t afraid to admit, was “a little scary” at times.

She tore her left ACL twice, first as a freshman and then as a sophomore, making some coaches wary of if the Thayer Academy and FC Stars player could physically produce at prior levels.

Then the COVID-19 pandemic came, introducing another layer of complication as Roppolo searched for a landing spot.
