For most players in the Development Academy, there’s an inherent familiarity with the college soccer recruiting process. An older brother or sister has reached the next level, or their parents played at university a couple decades back. The ins and outs, the ups and downs — each part contains conventional wisdom passed down.
Then there’s a smaller group of players who might be first-generation immigrants, stateside at a prep school, or simply new to the sport. For them, college recruiting can present some unexpected challenges.
