An Avon Old Farms standout will be heading to Bates for the third straight year, with Class of 2021 center back Amir Thomas verbally committing to the NESCAC program.

Thomas follows in the footsteps of sophomore midfielder Justin Phillips (Old Saybrook, Conn.) and incoming midfielder John O’Connor (Cape Elizabeth, Maine).

Thomas, who represented Bermuda at the Concacaf U-20 Championship this past February, said the COVID-19 pandemic put some extra urgency behind his decision.
