Although he grew up in Wales, much of Andy Dorman’s soccer career includes stops across New England.
Dorman starred at Boston University from 2000-03 before being selected in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft by the New England Revolution. The midfielder eventually played in 158 games for the Revolution across two different stints, helping them lift the 2007 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and reach four MLS Cup finals.
Nowadays, Dorman coaches at the MLS NEXT level for the Boston Bolts, shaping the next generation of local players. He brings worldly experiences to the sidelines, too, with three caps for Wales and stops at Crystal Palace, St. Mirren and Bristol Rovers.
As the Bolts enter the 2020-21 winter period, we connected with Dorman to discuss several topics around New England soccer. Where applicable, this interview has been edited and condensed.
