It took 422 days for Kevin Nylen (Ipswich, Mass.) to lead his first competitive game as Boston University head coach, but the wait was well worth it.
BU (1-0) opened its spring slate Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 win at Colgate, giving a glimpse into how the former Florida International University head coach will shape the Terriers moving forward.
Nylen was originally hired in January 2020 after 35-year head coach Neil Roberts (Braintree, Mass.) retired in November 2019. Factor in the COVID-19 pandemic and BU went 493 days between competing.
