Of New England's 18 Division I men’s soccer programs competing this spring, Quinnipiac entered the week as the only one still awaiting games.
After plenty of patience – 490 days worth, to be exact – the Bobcats finally returned to action on Thursday and secured a 1-0 road win over MAAC rival Fairfield in double overtime.
Down a man, Quinnipiac (1-0) got its game-winner from junior midfielder Alex Holle (North Haven, Conn.) in the 108th minute when the former Beachside SC academy player punched home a low cross from Norweigan forward Brage Aasen at the back post.
