The next stop for Alessandro Franciosa (Topsfield, Mass.) doesn’t quite require planes, trains and automobiles, but it’s pretty darn close.

Franciosa, a co-captain of Seacoast United’s U-17 academy team in 2019-20, has joined Aiolikos FC, a fourth-division professional club in Greece.

The 16-year-old flew out Wednesday evening to Italy, where he’ll quarantine for two weeks, and then depart for Athens. Then comes another leg to Mytilene, the capital city of Greek island Lesbos, for the upcoming challenge.
