South Kent hosted the 11th annual Sportsmen’s Cardinal Classic this past weekend.
The two-day event featured a total of four boys prep teams, with Woodstock Academy, Bridgton Academy and the Kiski School (Pa.) also competing. In the end, it was South Kent hoisting the championship trophy on its home field.
The Cardinals defeated Woodstock on Friday, 7-1, while Kiski beat Bridgton, 4-1. In Saturday’s championship matchup, South Kent earned a 3-2 win to hand Kiski its first loss of the season. The Cardinals improved to 7-0-1 on the season, and will next host Hotchkiss tomorrow.
Bridgton came away with a 2-1 victory over Woodstock in Saturday’s other game.
