Two players with New England connections have been called up to the U.S. U-17 Men’s Youth National Team.
Revolution Academy goalkeeper Ryan Carney (Dunstable, Mass.) and Philadelphia Union Academy forward Luke Zielinski (Weston, Conn.) are part of the 20-player roster called-in by head coach Gonzalo Segares.
The U-17 team will face Argentina on Tuesday and Uruguay on Friday in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for its first international matches of the 2022-23 cycle. Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2006, are age-eligible for the 2022-23 U-17 MYNT cycle, which culminates with the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru.
The U-17 training camp began last Thursday and will run until Sunday. It marks the third event of the 2022-23 cycle, after the team previously gathered domestically in October and January.
