Who will progress onto the next level and enjoy the most success?
The answer to that question largely depends on how you define both metrics, so let's start there. For us, the answer translates into being a high-impact college player or becoming a professional. Reaching either stage isn't easy by any means, since a finite percentage of players – from New England or any part of the country – can navigate the challenges ahead.
To get a sense of who could reach further heights as their career progresses, we've ranked the region's top 20 Class of 2020 players. By now, a clearer sense of New England's high-end players has emerged, though no exercise like this is ever perfect. Outside of the top 20, we've included an additional group of players to watch for at each position.
To merit consideration, players either have hometowns here or play for clubs/schools in New England.
